Photography's been the one constant in a life spent making things. Before a camera, there was furniture built by hand, paper pressed from scratch, candles and soap poured in small batches — I've never been able to leave raw materials alone. But the camera's where it comes together: it's how I read a scene, tell a story, and hold onto a moment that's already moving.
My first subject was my firstborn. That photo still hangs where I can see it — it was the hook, the one that started nearly 25 years of chasing the shots in front of me that match the ones already in my head. Whatever I'm building or shooting, it's the same pull that gets me into a garage with a strobe light at midnight, or onto a trail before sunrise for one shot.
